Multi-Format Packaging Comparison (Oat Milk)

This Multiformat Packaging Comparison Project analyzes the differences between an oat milk bottle made of polypropylene (PP plastic) and a Tetra Pak oat milk carton. The main focuses were sustainability, functionality, cost, and consumer perception. The material analysis highlights that PP bottles are durable, widely recyclable, and resealable, while Tetra Paks are lightweight and efficient for transport but require specialized recycling due to the various materials used in its multi-layer structure. In terms of environmental impact, the study evaluates the carbon footprint, energy and water consumption, and waste management challenges associated with both formats. The functional analysis considers durability, usability, and consumer experience, comparing factors such as ease of handling, storage efficiency, and resealability. From an economic perspective, the project examines production costs, raw material expenses, and manufacturing compatibility. The overall comparison concludes that the PP bottle is designed for individual store purchases, offering durability and resealability for consumers, while the Tetra Pak carton is more feasible for bulk purchases due to its lightweight, space-efficient design, and multi-layer structure.
